When you file for divorce, you generally must do so in a state where either you or your spouse live. Like most states, Arkansas has specific residency requirements in order to file for a divorce.
Specifically, you can file for an Arkansas divorce only if you or your spouse were Arkansas residents for at least 60 days prior to the time you file and for at least three months before the time when the court officially dissolves your marriage.
